Marketing Promotions - Specificness Is The Key To Promotion Triumph

I have always felt that marketing campaigns were broadly applied but not quite well executed. Marketing marketing in certain ways is a pretty decent idea for a wide array of things. You are able to give away pencils, hats, or other small gadgets with your trademark name on it. This is a system to spend little cash on an advertising campaign that will generate some level of name awareness. The question of how effectual these marketing marketing campaigns are is open, though. If I open up my pen drawer, I will uncover hundreds of merchandising pencils and erasers in there, but I could not name a single trademark offhand. Unless you sell something like stationary which folks associate with pens, these form of promotional giveaways are nothing but a waste of money.

In my humble opinion - and I always tell my customers this - niche marketing promotions should only be done for distinctive purposes. Guerrilla merchandising can work wonderfully depending on what sort of product you sell, but the niche marketing promotion must be carefully altered. Just going out in to a public plaza and holding a contest or giving away a product will not generate any business for you at all. You need to think strategically.

One of my very favorite places to do niche marketing campaigns is at clubs and bars. When folks are drinking, they will do what they can to win whatever. Whether you're giving away shot glasses, snacks, drink mixers, or simply T-shirts, people will get interested in your marketing promotion. If they get to come home with a souvenir of their night, they will forever relate it with the fun of going out drinking with friends. This is what money-making merchandising campaigns try to do - create those kinds of positive associations about your product or brand name.

Hot summer afternoons are also a good time for marketing campaigns. If you're willing to spend a few thousand dollars giving away free drinks in a crowded public place, people will absolutely love you. Even if you are giving out something that does not strictly go along with the weather - such as a salty snack - people will still be appreciative as long as they get a bit of water with it. If you can catch people at an unguarded moment, you can acquire their brand loyalty before they even know what hit them. That's what lucrative merchandising campaigns are all about. Leave the brand-name pens at home!
